Anti-Bullying

Bullying – the continuation of intentionally unkind or discriminatory behaviour towards another student

Bullying is rare at Nicholas Breakspear Catholic School. However, when it does occur we aim to act swiftly with an emphasis on ensuring that the bully understands the harm and hurt they are causing with their words or actions. Students are taught from their first day at NBS how important being a member of our community is and that the care and thought we have for others is at the heart of our school ethos and values. In addition, anti-bullying is taught explicitly our form time programme and across the curriculum in all subjects.

Where students have fallen out, or there are peer difficulties, our pastoral system is readily available to support – Form Tutors, Heads of Year and our three dedicated Pastoral Support Officers in our Student Services centre. At NBS there is always someone to talk to if there is a problem and our Sharp System allows students to report any worries or concerns in total confidence.
