Leadership Opportunities
We encourage all our students to lead in different areas of school life, to encourage a sense of responsibility and increase their confidence and social skills.

Key Leadership Roles
In Years 7-11 each Form Group has two House Captains, who report to the Student Leadership Team above. In addition to these roles, students from all years can apply to be librarians. Students in Year 10 can apply to be a Reading Mentor to provide support for a student in Year 7 or 8, and sixth form students can also apply to be peer mentors.
Sixth Form Leaders
As well as the Leadership Team, students have the opportunity to take on a vast array of different leadership opportunities. These include leading our Marist Mercy Care charity work and running our school magazine, as well as Drama, Music and Sporting leadership opportunities. Year 12 students are invited to apply for a Senior Prefect role in which they lead on lunchtime supervision and activities for the lower school.

Head Boy
Kasper Biaca
"NBS, a place that has truly developed me as a person, both professionally and socially. Over the past few years, NBS has equipped me with all the tools I need to succeed, where I will channel all these skills into my future career. As Head Boy, I will ensure that all students will experience the same, if not better level of support, helping everyone excel in whatever they choose to do and helping them to fulfil the NBS Mission."
Head Girl
Giovanna Brett
"My journey at NBS has seen me flourish personally, socially and academically from a timid Year 7 to now becoming Head Girl, I am forever grateful to the NBS community for granting me with so many opportunities and truly becoming a place that I am proud to belong. Through my time at NBS, it has taught me to align my everyday life with the pupil profile, encouraging me to be resilient in the face of challenges and compassionate to others in our community and wider world. When I leave NBS, I hope to fulfil the schools mission by becoming a lawyer, to help the greatest number of people in order to build a better world."
Bosco House Captain
Kosi Okeke
"My time at NBS has played a huge role in shaping who I am today, helping me grow academically, socially, and spiritually while nurturing my unique gifts. With the support of the NBS community, I discovered my passion for psychology and developed a strong interest in pursuing educational psychology as a career. I have also tried to embody the school's core values of Peace, Justice, Truth and Love in how I learn, interact with others, and contribute to the community, guiding the person I continue to become.”
Kolbe House Captain
Ashaan Chambers
“ The time I have spent at NBS has been an incredible adventure that has brought a multitude of opportunities such as the amazing academic support we receive, as well as the wonderful extra-curricular activities that are available including the annual school drama productions, lunchtime clubs and music lessons. However, if there's one factor that stands out in our school it's that students can have their voices not just heard, but listened to. My goal is to continue this quality, ensuring that everyone knows that they have the right to speak up for themselves and others, which I believe will help in carrying out our NBS mission with Peace, Justice, Truth, and Love.”
Bakhita House Captain
Mary Coates
“ NBS has provided me with the ability to grow and gain achievements that I did not believe I could achieve. I love the friendly environment that NBS provides and the leadership opportunities it has enabled me to gain. Through my journey at NBS it has given me the confidence and values that I know will benefit me in my future. I have developed a passion for business and aim to take the route of Human Resources to help all people feel valued and supported in their workplaces, the same way I have felt at NBS.”
Lisieux House Captain
Anderson Brewster
“ The thing I love about NBS is the sheer number of opportunities that are offered to you from year 7 all the way to sixth form; it may be Olympiads that strengthen you academically, or clubs helping you socialise with those around you. Without all of my teachers and the opportunities I have been offered throughout my time at NBS, I would not be the person I am today. I can say that my aspiration to study Geoscience at university has been powered though all the outstanding opportunities I have been offered. That is why I love NBS.”
Soubirous House Captain
Amelia Janczuk
“ My journey at NBS has played a huge role in shaping the person I am today, helping me develop skills that go beyond the workplace and into everyday life. One of the things I appreciate most about NBS is the driven and supportive community around me, where everyone encourages each other to do their best. The support I’ve received here has helped me discover what I’m truly interested in and has inspired me to pursue a career in law and the judicial system, where I hope to play a part in building a more equal and just society.”
More House Captain
Angelina Nicholas
“ My time at NBS has been a journey of personal growth. Joining a new community pushed me out of my comfort zone and allowed me to discover my own confidence. The supportive environment and endless opportunities here have played a vital part in shaping my ambition to study criminal psychology at university, where I hope to understand and support those in the justice system.”
