NBS Enrichment Day 2026
Back
On Wednesday 25th February, students across the school took part in some fantastic, interactive learning during the first of our annual Enrichment Days. The day was filled with exciting opportunities and hands-on experiences, enabling students to learn beyond the classroom.
Year 7 students had an incredible visit to the National History Museum in London, where they had the opportunity to explore the natural and scientific world close up. They visited many exhibits showcasing science and technology from the past, present and future. The trip sparked curiosity and encouraged students to think deeply about the world around them.
Year 8 students took part in an engaging STEM day in school. Throughout the day they rotated through a variety of exciting sessions exploring different aspects of STEM in the wider world. Activities included bracelet making and bridge building, alongside talks from external speakers. In a fast-paced and rapidly changing world, this enriching day fostered essential skills like critical thinking, problem-solving, and innovation.
Year 9 focused on Religion and Culture in school, through a range of thoughtful and creative activities. Students welcomed a guest speaker who spoke about Judaism, broadening their understanding of different faiths and beliefs. They also participated in practical sessions, including an oil pastels workshop.
Year 10 visited the Duxford Imperial War Museum where they explored all the wonderful historical exhibits, as well as the physics of aircraft and flight through the years. As they walked around the preserved airfield and buildings - many unchanged since the Second World War – they walked in the footsteps of the men and women who served here. Inside every hangar and exhibition, they discovered iconic aircrafts, saw historic objects from the collections and uncovered hundreds of personal stories of the many lives impacted by conflict. It was a brilliant and memorable learning experience.
Year 12 students participated in a careers day, gaining valuable insight into future pathways. They attended talks from representatives at Herts Uni and the Herts Young Homeless charity, alongside this they took part in a photo competition - be sure to follow @nbs6thform on Instagram to view the wonderful entries!
